Kizuna Translations: From Classroom Project to Career

MEXICALI — What began as a college project has grown into a decade-long business for Pamela Perez.

Pamela Perez, along with fellow translators Brianda Gonzalez and Esther Gutierrez, launched Kizuna Translations while studying at a Mexicali university. More than a decade later, the firm provides legal, literary and scientific services, continuing its mission to connect cultures through language.

“The name comes from the Japanese word kizuna, meaning ‘bonds,’ because every translation is a bridge that connects people, ideas and cultures,” Perez said.
