City of Calexico Recognizes Former Police Chiefs Serrano and Legaspi
CALEXICO — Two former police chiefs were honored for their long careers and service Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, at a special meeting of the Police Advisory Commission.
Former chiefs Jesus Serrano and Victor Legaspi were recognized for their decades of work and contributions to keeping Calexico safe and orderly. Serrano retired after more than 28 years with the Calexico Police Department.
Legaspi joined the Calexico Police Department in 1989 and went on to serve as a School Resource Officer and as director of the Police Athletic League. His career with the department spanned 34 years.
The meeting featured a presentation by current Police Chief Orozco, who presented Serrano and Legaspi with plaques. Commission Chairperson Javier Gonzalez attended and congratulated both men on their career achievements, thanking them for their service to the city.
